These are a series of boxes in birch wood with leaf / plant decoration burned into the  simple, blond wood.  I have used aniline dyes AFTER an initial sealer coat of Varathane.  When the wood is sealed the dyes, in a methyl hydrate solution, can be treated much as watercolour paints.

These are two more in the series of serving trays  I am making.  I now have completed  three; one  with a Padauk side, one with Birch and one with Walnut.  The images are burned into the wood.  The two illustrated  on either side are similar except for the side woods.  I have chosen to call them my "Signature Trays" because the  image attempts to communicate both my given name and a profound teaching of the Sacred Tree. (Note:  several "blank" units are available and can be customized)
