Wakan
Tanka, the Mighty, the Infinite, the Intimate. You were my heart
beat before birth, and my first breath of air . You are creator of
the universe and you connect each being that has existence because
each being has life as part of your life.
My
prayer to you is thanksgiving – because that reveals my relationship
to all beings; Mitakye Oyasin
My prayer to you is petition – because that reveals my relationship
to all beings; Mitakye Oyasin
My prayer to you is silence – because that reveals my relationship
to all beings; Mitakye Oyasin
My prayer to you is dance – because that reveals my relationship to
all beings; Mitakye Oyasin
When
I know my relationships I know you my Creator and I know myself,
and that is the only way I can know you and the only way I can know
myself.
I
can think of myself, when I die, and make the journey to the other
side, and stand before you – but as I am now, I stand side
by side with all of your creation and I am already standing before
you!. You have already given me “ heaven”. I have already
walked the journey to the other side even if that journey is only
in part and still to be completed.

Tanka you do not ask me to wait for death to know this – Wakan
Tanka, you just ask me to stand in awe and wonder as I already share
in this life, and to know this even as my feet walk the paths of
the Sacred Circle.
